The band charted singles and top ten albums on the Billboard charts in the 1970s, 1980s, 1990s, and 2010s, a four-decade streak for a female-fronted band. Heart has sold over 35 million records worldwide, had 20 number-one singles and seven number-one albums, and received four Grammy nominations. The songs “Magic Man” (1975), “Crazy on You” (1976), “Barracuda” (1977), “What About Love” (1985), and “Never” (1985), as well as the number one hits “These Dreams” (1986) and “Alone” (1990), are among the US Top 40 singles that Heart has released. The band Heart broke up in 1998, but since then they have reformed numerous times to continue performing and recording the only members who have remained consistent are the Wilson sisters. Despite the fact that the band’s popularity declined during the initial years with the new lineup, the band remained to be successful far into the 1990s. The band staged a return in the middle of the 1980s, which boosted big radio singles that continued into the 1990s. By the time 1982 rolled around, Fisher, Fossen, and Derosier were all gone, and they were succeeded by Mark Andes (bass) and Denny Carmassi (drums). The band went through a significant lineup shift as the 1970s gave way to the 1980s. The band Heart grew to prominence with music that was influenced not only by folk music but also by hard rock and heavy metal. The band‘s induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2013 was completed with the participation of these essential members. In the middle of the 1970s, founding members Roger Fisher (guitar) and Steve Fossen (bass guitar) were joined by Ann Wilson (lead vocals and flute), Nancy Wilson (rhythm guitar, vocals), Michael Derosier (drums), and Howard Leese (guitar, keyboards, and backing vocals) to form Heart’s lineup for its initial success period in the middle to late 1970s. In the year that followed, they decided to alter their name to White Heart, and then in 1973, they decided to change it one more time, this time to Heart. In the subsequent two years, they decided to alter their name to Hocus Pocus. The American rock band Heart was established in 1967 in the city of Seattle, Washington, under the name The Army.
